Boots and All
Having almost finished with the Irons, Lisa and Irini on the Wed/Thurs cataloguing team have moved on to Boots and Shoes.
Which brings us to an interesting question. When you see boots like these:
do you describe their condition as Good, Fair or Poor? These are the three condition categories that we have to choose from. If you were wearing them, with the nails from the repairs clearly sticking through, and into your feet, you would say "Poor". And probably in a quite firm voice.
But when a cataloguer looks at them, there is an argument that they are "Good", because they are a wonderful example of how boots were repaired and repaired and repaired.
Stand by for more - there are less boots and shoes than there are sewing machines and irons. But a lot more than wooden wheelbarrows (we only found three).
