Military Collection

Libby, with the assistance of others, is now working on checking the catalogue against the Military collection, and cataloguing new items. This is one of the two large items in that collection - a World War I General Purpose wagon.

The other one is a restored WWI Ambulance, which was used in the filming of The Lighthorsemen in 1987. There, it was the ambulance used by Dave (Peter Phelps) during the charge on Beersheba.

Linda is just back from the Community Heritage Grants Preservation and Collection Management Training Workshops in Canberra, where she picked up a lot of useful information. Old Gippstown was awarded a grant to carry out a preservation study on the Narracan Mechanics' Institute collection, and work is recommencing on cataloguing that collection.
